Day 1: Pick up from Kigali and drive to the Volcanoes
To day, we will pick you up from your hotel in Kigali and begin the day with a guided city tour. Your exploration will include a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, a poignant and moving site that offers insight into Rwanda’s history. You will also discover other highlights of the city, such as local markets, vibrant neighborhoods, and cultural landmarks. Afterward, we’ll enjoy a delicious lunch in Kigali before embarking on a scenic drive to the Volcanoes National Park. Request this package
Upon arrival, you’ll check in to your chosen accommodation. In the late afternoon, you have the option to either relax at the hotel or embark on a boat ride on the serene Twin Lakes. The boat ride offers breathtaking views of the surrounding volcanoes, creating a perfect opportunity for stunning photos and peaceful moments in nature. Alternatively, you may choose to unwind at your hotel, taking in the tranquil surroundings of the park.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and Transfer Back to Kigali
After a hearty breakfast, your driver-guide will pick you up at 7:00 AM for the journey to the park’s headquarters in Kinigi Village. There, you’ll receive a briefing from a ranger about the rules and regulations of gorilla trekking. Following the briefing, you will head into the jungle for your trek. The duration of the trek can vary, ranging from one to six hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. As you’re looking for a longer experience, your trek may last up to six hours.
Once you reach the gorillas, you will have one hour to observe and photograph these incredible creatures in their natural habitat. After your time with the gorillas, you will return to the park headquarters and begin your drive back to Kigali. Along the way, enjoy a relaxing lunch at one of the local restaurants before arriving back in the city.
